Solar Paper – The world’s thinnest and lightest solar charger from YOLK

After the first solar charger project ‘Solarade’, SungWon was attracted by the synergy of technology and design. So she founded a solar charger company, YOLK. YOLK is a small company for now but this team has world top solar technology and vision to spread this wonderful green technology to everyone’s daily life. You will find the most innovative and advanced solar products at YOLK.

The world’s first solar charger that can be placed inside your note or planner. It is a paper-thin and ultra-lightweight solar charger. Solar Paper is the world’s smallest 2,5W, 5W, 7.5W, 10W solar chargers. When it is sunny it can charge an iPhone 6 in about 2.5 hours. It has a similar charging speed as a wall charger.

The world’s top technology is making highly efficient solar panels. It means that it can generate more energy than any other solar panels that have the same size. There will be one USB port instead of two. It is for a more stable and efficient PCB board design.

What will happen when solar panels are covered by shadows or receive low-intensity sunlight? It will simply stop charging because it doesn’t receive enough sunlight to generate the power. Conventional solar chargers require you to re-plug the cable under these conditions.

It can be very annoying if you have to watch and re-plug it all the time. Solar Paper has technology for this problem. It is programmed to automatically reset when it has enough sunlight. With this auto-reset feature, it will generate power more in an efficient and stable way.

Solar Paper is currently being funded on Kickstarter and is expected to begin shipping in September 2015. It will be available in four sizes, from 2.5 watts to 10 watts, allowing various combinations of the Solar Paper to be used to power everything from an iPhone 6 Plus to an iPad.
